Worship life at Truth Lutheran Church is consistent, meaningful, and in the tradition of Martin Luther.

Consistent worship means that we gather each Sunday to honor God with our worship and praise in the following manner:
  • Singing hymns of the church that we have known and sang since childhood as well as occasionally singing contemporary hymns.
  • Hearing the word of God as Scripture lessons from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the Epistles of the New Testament, and the Gospels.
  • Praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ, locally, nationally, and world-wide.
  • Celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Meaningful worship means that our worship is Christ centered, based on a traditional format that has been found in Lutheranism for many years.

Worship in the tradition of Martin Luther means that our worship is Christ centered, with Scripture as the foundation of our worship.  Traditional Lutheran worship for several hundred years has been a worship service that is credal and confessional based on Word and Sacrament.  Hence, each worship service begins with an opportunity for confession and forgiveness.  Furthermore, each worship service includes an opportunity to confess our faith as expressed in the Apostles Creed, an opportunity to hear the word of God as Scripture is read and a sermon is preached, and concludes with an opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Other opportunities for worship and special worship services:

Sunday School and Confirmation:
Sunday School is offered during the school year.
Confirmation classes are being held.

Special Services:
Each year an All Saints Service is held.  Deceased loved ones are remembered as a candle is lit in their name.  Family members, friends, acquaintances and co-workers are remembered.

A Thanksgiving worship service is held on Thanksgiving eve.  We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy communion as well as honor God with praise and thanksgiving for all that he has provided for us.

A Christmas Eve Worship service with Holy Communion is held at 5:00 p.m. We worship on Christmas Eve to offer praise and thanksgiving to God for sending his Son so that we may have life eternal, the gift of salvation.

Lenten worship services are held each Wednesday in Lent at 7:00 p.m., beginning with imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday. A soup and sandwich meal is served prior to each service, with exception of Ash Wednesday service. Lenten worship concludes during Holy week with a combined Maundy Thursday/ Good Friday worship service.

Other commemorations are included in worship throughout the year as the occasion arises.
