Truth Lutheran Church members volunteer at Kids Against Hunger
Truth Lutheran church members traveled to Nisswa on Thursday, November 10, 2016, to fill food bags for Kids Against hunger. Kids Against Hunger provides meal for Children throughout the world.
Members filled 360 bags in just under an hour. Those 360 bags will provide 2,160 meals for hungry children. The bags our group filled will probably be sent to the Southeast of the United States, an area struck by a Tornado this past summer.
Each bag is filled with approximately one cup of Rice, one Cup of Soy, 1/4 cup of dehydrated vegetables, and 1/4 cup of protein powder. The bags are vacuum sealed, placed in cardboard boxes, and shipped around the world. To use, recipients simply boil six (6) cups water, add the contents of the bag, simmer for about 20 minutes, and then cool for about five minutes.
