A Thanksgiving Message
Why I am thankful this Thanksgiving season.
Thanksgiving is an important holiday season of the year. It causes us to look at or at least be cognizant of the many blessings God has bestowed upon his people. For the Christian, it would be fitting some time during the Thanksgiving holiday season to look at Scripture that reflect gratitude for God’s blessings.
- Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 5 Matthew 6:21
- Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
- But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
- I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1
- And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
- A sense of safety: Many folks throughout the world and even within the United States do not have a secure sense of safety this Thanksgiving.
- Good health: During this current pandemic I remain free from infection of this virus.
- My family: God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and awesome children and their families.
- Great Friend: We have great friends that continue to support us as we experience life’s challenges.
- Truth Lutheran Church: A kind, compassionate and loving congregation that remains faithful to the Word of God.
- A place to call home: I think of the thousands of homeless folks throughout the world and am thankful that I have a home.
